According to the organizers of the hk prize, the competition is designed to gather innovative ideas on promoting Hong Kong’s international development efforts and shaping its role on the global stage. Interested parties can submit their ideas through the hk prize website. The winning entries will be selected by a panel of judges. The winners will be notified on or before 31 August 2024.
The winner of the HK International Development Prize will be awarded a cash prize of HK$25,000. This award is open to anyone worldwide who has a passion for developing Hong Kong into a world-leading global city. The finalists will be invited to attend a public forum in Hong Kong where they will be presented with their awards.
HK Prize is a science and technology innovation prize launched by BOCHK to recognize Hong Kong scientific research talents, nurture forward-looking scientists, and together build Hong Kong into an international scientific research and technology hub. The prize is sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited. The rules and regulations for the HK Prize are based on the principles of fairness, objectivity, and transparency. In addition, the HK Prize has established a Compliance Oversight Team that oversees the process of selecting candidates and awardees to ensure compliance with the Rules and Regulations. If any party fails to comply with the rules, the Compliance Oversight Team may disqualify them from receiving the prize. Moreover, the Board may impose other sanctions as appropriate. This year, the prize will be awarded in five categories: artificial intelligence and robotics; life and health; new materials and new energy; advanced manufacturing; and fintech. The judging panel will consist of experts in the field from Hong Kong and overseas. Each expert will select ten shortlisted entries. A total of 15 winners will be announced in the final ceremony.
