The BOCHK Prize for Science and Technology InnovationThe BOCHK Prize for Science and Technology Innovation
The BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize is an annual award sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited to recognize scientific research and its impact on society. It is intended to encourage scientists in Hong Kong and other regions of the world to continue their innovative exploration, establish themselves in Hong Kong, and contribute to the global community.
The prize is named after Professor Wang Gungwu, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong and a major donor. The money from his donation has been used to provide prizes for students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, especially those doing research in the field of Chinese and Hong Kong history.
Applicants should submit their entries online. They will be required to answer some questions relating to their work and provide examples of previous projects. They will also need to provide contact details and a short biography. In addition to this, they will be asked to include a statement of their current academic achievements and the main area of study that they are working on.
The judges will select the winner of the prize from a range of submissions. They will be looking for entries that demonstrate an understanding of the unique historical status of Hong Kong from different perspectives. This is an excellent opportunity for emerging artists to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience.
The winning artwork will be displayed at an event in September, where the artist will be presented with a cash prize of HK$100,000 generously donated by Harilela Hotels. In addition, the winning work will be included in a digital exhibition in London and in a book published by a leading UK publisher.
